    Event Planning Coordinator - San Antonio, TX / Chicago, ILJob Locations US-TX-San AntonioPosition P10339Category Travel and EventsType Full-Time/RegularJob SummaryWounded Warrior Projects (WWP) Event Planning Coordinator is responsible for delivering high-quality project results that provide value to the organization; ensures high levels of satisfaction; meets or exceeds project budget objectives; and pursues opportunities for additional costs savings with regards to event planning needs for warriors and staff; develops, negotiates, and implements efficient event and meeting logistics management and policies, including travel, and accommodations. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport Programs with regards to meeting logistics, including site selection, rate negotiation, catering, and some on-site support at eventsWork as a team member with registration coordinator and travel coordinatorPay close attention to detail, demonstrating accuracy and efficiency in financial reconciliation (process invoices, reconcile billing with accounting)Prepare statistical reportsAllocate time according to budget and checklistsImmediately adapt to crisis situations, changing procedures, methods, and processesFacilitate continuous communication between Travel and Events and all other WWP departmentsTravel and work overtime as needed to attend events and client meetings (may include weekends)Other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesFoster strong working relationships with warriors and staffAble to effectively interact with cross-functional teamsMust be a team player with a commitment to relationship-building for WWP, both internally and externallyExceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsStrong computer skills to include Microsoft Office softwareKnowledge and experience in registration software such as CventDemonstrated ability to self-start and work as part of a teamMust demonstrate a high level of professionalismStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be detail orientedStrong customer service skills (phone, in person, e-mail)Must be able to travel, including some weekendsStrong multi-tasking and time management skills to include managing concurrent tasks efficientlyAbility to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with attention to general details and specificationsEducation & Experience RequirementsBachelors degree in event planning, hospitality, communications, or a related field requiredThree (3) years total professional experience requiredSix months experience in event planning environment preferredCertifications & LicensureNA
