Must be classified as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student, or be a recent graduate student within the last year (May 2017 May 2018) with a minimum of 60 college credit hours. Must provide a current official/unofficial transcript. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale as an undergraduate, postgraduate, or recent graduate. Notes to Applicants IMPORTANT INFORMATION The 2018 Austin Energy Summer Internship Program will start on May 29, 2018 and end on August 10, 2018. Graduates who are not currently enrolled in a post graduate program or who have graduated prior to May 2017 will not be considered for the 2018 Summer Internship Program. Job Close Date 04/06/2018 Type of Posting External Department Austin Energy Regular/Temporary Temporary (No benefits) Grant Funded or Pooled Position Not Applicable Category Internships Location Various Locations Preferred Qualifications Conservation Program Associate The Conservation Program Associate will assist the Customer Renewable Energy Solutions team, which includes Austin Energys distributed solar and green power programs (including solar incentives, Green Choice and Community Solar). The intern will assist the roll out of the new residential solar incentive and education program, including coordinating in-person trainings and outreach to agencies such as Austin Public Library and community organizations, provide assistance to participating contractors as they adapt to new, streamlined process flows in the incentive program, review incentive applications for non-technical compliance, assist the Shared Solar pilot to enable multifamily affordable housing properties to install solar to benefit their tenants, undertake program data analysis and creation of visuals and infographics, and assist at staff outreach events. Preferred Qualifications: Degree or major in Engineering, Architecture, or Business. Major study, coursework, background or concentration in Environmental Studies, Resource Management, Sustainable Energy, Planning, or Public Policy. Experience in sustainability and clean energy as demonstrated by coursework, previous internships, or extracurricular activities. Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and data management. Experience with customer service and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and policies.
