Description Benefits: * Competitive salaries * Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance * 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan * Life Insurance * Tuition Assistance * Wellness reimbursement * Travel Insurance * Paid Holidays and Vacation What does an Assistant Distribution Dispatcher do? * All duties are performed under direct supervision of a qualified Distribution Dispatcher or Management. * This is a shift job. * Dispatch field personnel engaged in the operation of the Electric and Gas Distribution systems including emergency response and in the performance of commercial-type work. * Ensure that all assigned work is completed in a timely and cost efficient manner to obtain the optimum balance of customer satisfaction and cost minimization. * Under direct supervision, communicate, record, and reflect device status changes in appropriate system for pre-scheduled Distribution Switching Order steps as approved by Management. * Assess the need for additional resources in the field, Call Center, and Control Center after-hours to ensure a prompt response to emergencies and heightened activity and perform callouts for field personnel, Call Center personnel, and Control Center personnel when directed. * Provide guidance to the Call Center personnel after-hours when necessary. * Promptly inform the qualified Distribution Dispatcher or Management of significant and/or unusual events. * Ensure the highest levels of safe work practices are observed by personnel including field personnel to strive for an accident and injury free workplace. * Participate in and successfully complete all required training including but not limited to the Distribution Dispatcher Initial Training Program and progress towards a qualified Distribution Dispatcher. What does it take to become an Assistant Distribution Dispatcher? * The qualifications for this job include a High School Diploma or Equivalency Diploma with three (3) years of experience in the electric, gas utility field or emergency response dispatch field; or a two (2) year technical degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. * Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.
