Position Summary Duke Energy is seeking a self-motivated and highly qualified individual to work at H. F. Lee Energy Complex in Goldsboro, NC. This position is responsible for the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the Combined Cycle Plant and Simple Cycle Combustion Turbines located at the complex. The facility consist of one 3X1 Combined Cycle Power Block and five(5) simple cycle gas turbines for a combined station rating of approximately 2,000 MW. Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * The successful candidate is accountable for knowing and adhering to all station environmental, health and safety procedures. * The successful candidate will understand and follow approved procedures; for start-up, shutdown, normal operations, monitoring, servicing, and maintenance of all equipment systems within the Combined Cycle facility. * Must be familiar with emergency procedures to follow during periods of abnormal operation. * Accountable for knowing and adhering to all location environmental and safety procedures including LOTOnbsp; and personal protective equipment. * Performs maintenance of plant equipment including troubleshooting, repairs, and calibrating equipment. * Monitors equipment performance through test, analysis, and report variances. * Understands and supports the CT fleet operating model and programs associated with it. * Must be capable of handling required responsibilities with minimum supervision. * Responsible for operations, maintenance and balance of plant functions required at the Combined Cycle Combustion Turbine facility. * Perform and follow Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures on equipment such as HRSGs, steam turbines, gas turbines, pumps valves, filter plant and high voltage equipment. * Ability to read and understand equipment technical manuals and utilize the information for developing maintenance job plans and troubleshooting techniques. * Perform and monitor combustion turbine plant equipment through normal operations, testing and emergency type events. * Able to make repairs to steam turbine auxiliary, prime movers and balance of plant equipment at a Combined Cycle Combustion Turbine facility * Performs record keeping duties concerning Environmental, Health amp; Safety records, spreadsheets and documents. * Support and follow Duke Energy safety guidelines, policies, and procedures. * Ability to operate, troubleshoot and maintain water treatment facilities such as demineralizers; and perform chemical treatment for equipment such as filter water plant and HRSGs. * Working Conditions * Work schedule is a rotating 12 hour shift work. Position requires 24/7 coverage. * Frequent overtime including weekend work and holidays. * Able to work/respond on short notice to support planned/unplanned/emergency site events. * Willing to travel approximately 5-10% for training and assist other Duke Energy Combustion Turbine sites when required. * Required to wear a respirator and must be able to successfully complete a physical and respirator fit test on annual or as needed basis. * Must be able to work at heights, from suspended work platforms and in confined spaces. Specific Qualifications

    • Must have a valid driver's license * Must successfully complete EEI's Plant Operator Selection System (POSS), and Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS) * Required to pass a medical physical including a respirator fit test * Ability to successfully complete in a timely manner levels of Employee Development and Qualification Program training Basic Qualifications * High school diploma or GED * Two year college degree or technical school certificate; or 2 plus years of related experience or combustion turbine industry training or equivalent combination of training and experience * Must be proficient with computers, software applications and plant work management software and tools such as Microsoft packages that include word, excel, power point. In addition, experience with maintenance management systems such as Maximo or equivalent. Desired Qualifications * Must have the ability to work within a team oriented environment and demonstrated team interface skills * Additional years of experience with Combined Cycle combustion turbine technology is preferred and will be given preference over other power industry experience * Experience with large heavy gas turbine and steam turbine supplier technologies * Experience with digital control systems (Mark 6/Ovation,T-3000,Toshiba) and programmable logic controller * Experience with mechanical and electronic field testing equipment * Experienced in both IC and Electrical fields Travel Requirements 5-15% Relocation Assistance Provided (as applicable) No Represented/Union Position No Visa Sponsored Position No Posting Expiration Date Thursday, June 14, 2018 All job postings expire at 12:01 AM on the posting expiration date.
