Intern; Raleigh An engineer summer internship is available within the
DER (Distributed Energy Resources) Technical Standards group within Duke
Energys Distributed Energy Technologies Department.nbsp; This position
will be located in Raleigh at the North Carolina Regional Headquarters
building. This position will undertake short-term responsibilities which
may involve any or all of the following:nbsp; * Performing and/or
managing engineering studies, simulations, ad-hoc technical analyses,
and various other types of complex analytical work that seeks to
investigate solutions to increasing DER penetration. * Writing and
editing technical documents such as interconnection requirements and
policies. Basic Qualifications: * Currently enrolled and pursuing a
graduate degree in Electrical Engineering * Cumulative GPA of at least
2.75 * Valid drivers license * Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
software Desired Qualifications: * Anticipated graduation date of
December 2019 or beyond with availability for multiple summer
internships while pursuing degree * Demonstrated excellent written and
oral communication skills * Demonstrates ability to provide the quantity
and quality of work necessary to reach an accomplishment * Demonstrated
leadership qualities through effective decision making * Works
effectively with others from diverse backgrounds to achieve common goal
- Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through
effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned
work * Demonstrates tenacity by remaining persistence in the face of
difficulty * Demonstrated technical proficiency in use of computers,
software, and engineering applications * Desire to pursue a career in
the energy industry * Previous engineering work experience is a plus

occasional escorted field visits to facilities such as solar farms,
substations, etc. Travel Requirements May have a few occasions during
the summer to travel to field offices or locations such as solar farms,
