The mission of the ERCOT Summer Internship Program is to partner with students pursuing academic excellence to create opportunities that stretch learning experiences into a work environment with intellectually challenging projects and assignments. These opportunities will promote utility industry awareness, growth, and identification of top talent for future employment. The summer internship is not to exceed 40 hours a week. Summary of Responsibilities: * Work with internal ERCOT IT to help with analysis and transfer of data to the Texas Advanced Computing Center to enable the fulfillment of ERCOT contract contracts with the University of Texas in continuing research on the ERCOT Operating area which include several different tasks related to assessing the smart meter data and the Duck curve for ERCOT from high penetration rates of solar power generation with a variety of demand curves. * This research is intended to help with Reliability and Market related impacts based on customer behavior and the changing energy mix and will be used to develop a model for sharing data with other research institutions in the future. Desired Educational Level * Business degree, MIS or computer science candidate preferred * Completed sophomore year Preferred work schedule: * Full-time (40 hours a week Monday through Friday, excluding ERCOT Holidays) starting May 29, 2018 - August 10, 2018 Our summer internship program is a paid learning experience targeting primarily for students who have a GPA of 3.0 or better and who have at least completed their sophomore year.
