The mission of the ERCOT Summer Internship Program is to partner with students pursuing academic excellence to create opportunities that stretch learning experiences into a work environment with intellectually challenging projects and assignments. These opportunities will promote utility industry awareness, growth, and identification of top talent for future employment. The summer internship will be 40 hours a week during the summer. Summary of responsibilities of the Intern: * Assist with performing electrical engineering analysis for the operation of the electric power system. Update and modify appropriate system models, develop tools to enhance real-time power system analysis/simulation. Compare and analyze results with actual operating results and reports findings and make recommendations. Project Deliverable: * Develop tools to enhance the contingencies definitions for real-time dynamic simulation * Update and modify appropriate system dynamic simulation models * Compare and analyze results with actual operating results and bench mark the results * Report findings and make recommendations. Desired Educational Level (Degrees earned or being sought by the Candidate) · Pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering Experience (if any): Preferred Experience: * Completed courses in power system analysis and modeling * Proficient with a basic programming language (examples: Visual Basic, Python, Java or Excel VBA) * Pervious internship experience working for an electric utility Preferred work schedule of the intern: * 40 hours a week / Monday Friday 8AM - 5PM * Must be available to work onsite Interns will not be eligible for remote work. * May 28, 2019 August 9, 2019 Our summer internship program is a paid learning experience targeting primarily for students who have a GPA of 3.0 or better and who have at least completed their sophomore year.
