IT, Project Controls Analyst I-III Date: Oct 18, 2018 Location: New Orleans, LA, US Company: Entergy This position can be filled in The Woodlands, TX or New Orleans, LA. This position will be filled as an Analyst II or III depending on experience. POSITION PURPOSE: Project Controls Analyst will be the point person for all requirements associated with Entergy ITs Stage Gate Processes. Individual will support project operations activities which include reporting, governance, auditing and resource management. This position interfaces directly with Project Managers, other PMO teams, and IT Leadership, providing trusted insight into the IT Stage Gate Process. Primary Duties & Areas of Responsibility:» * Provide process oversight to ensure project health is transparent to senior management and core project teams, which includes status monitoring and updates * Responsible for developing and maintaining project operational metrics and reports * Responsible for project stage gate functions including project change processes * Responsible for on-boarding and associated training for project professionals * Responsible for project management processes and tools, including associated change management * Challenge the projects estimate-to-complete by following company procedures and ensuring risk and opportunities are managed to optimize the project financial targets * Responsible for resource management functions * Assist Project Team in developing/reviewing/implementing corrective actions & recovery plans * Interfaces with project team(s) and portfolio management as necessary for cost control monitoring, analysis and reporting. * Participates as member of project/program audits and prepares internal corrective action plans QUALIFICATIONS: * SME Level of proficiency and extensive experience with project cost control activities (level of proficiency and experience will determine Analyst Level assignment) * High degree of computer literacy including advanced knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and the remainder of the MS Office suite * Solid understanding of Project Management and Project Management Office * Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and work effectively in a collaborative team environment * Capacity to adapt to changing work priorities * Excellent researching, decision-making and organizational skills are required * Complex Problem Solving -- identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities * Work independently and follows through on assignments with minimal direction while keeping the team informed * Possess a mastery of basic/generic data skills (tools & concepts) * Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection and other guidelines where appropriate PREFERRED: * Solid understanding of Entergy ITs Stage Gate Processes Minimum Educational Background and Physical Requirements Required to Perform Job: * Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or other related discipline or equivalent work experience * Analyst II-III - 2 to 6+ years of professional experience #LI-DNI Primary Location: Louisiana-New Orleans Job Function: Information Technology FLSA Status: Professional Relocation Option: No Relocation Offered Union description/code: NON BARGAINING UNIT-NBU Number of Openings: 1 Req ID: 83398 Travel Percentage:Up to 25% An Equal Opportunity Employer, Minority/Female/Disability/Vets.
