Application Deadline: 01/16/2019 at 11:59 pm Mountain Time # of Positions: 2 Job Type: Seasonal (Fixed Term) (Seasonal) Job End Date: 11/01/2019 Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Pay Range: $16.45-$19.82 Minimum Age Requirement: Job Description: The primary objective of this position is to assist in implementing hydroelectric project license compliance tasks, gathering and entering data, operating, maintaining and repairing infrastructure and equipment, and providing customer service to visitors on company-owned lands and facilities under supervision. Resource Technician I responsibilities include completing basic information summaries relative to task completion, providing documentation as requested for project activities conducted, and processing data to database(s). Specific Additional Duties: Maintenance of landscape plants, native plants, and turf areas to include: monitoring and fixing irrigation systems of varying complexity and type; weed control, tree pruning; maintenance and repair of infrastructure related to public access areas by maintaining buildings, cleaning public restrooms, and removing garbage; provides customer service to visitors at parks, enforces park policies and resolves conflicts, assists with fee collections and park reservations; keeps records, as directed, related to recreation or resource conditions. Those records may include water meter readings, park visitor data, potable water profiles, civil measurements, pesticide data, and weather information. REQUIRED SKILLS Knowledge of: * Irrigation methods including pressurized and flood systems * operation and maintenance of equipment related to agricultural or landscape maintenance * weed control methods. Basic use and operation of equipment relevant to specific additional job duties. * Prefer: * Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use and operation of equipment relevant to specific additional job duties. Skills in: * Ability to function as a team member in field activities. Ability to use and operate equipment necessary for the safe completion of specific additional job duties. Horticultural or agricultural operations, mechanical and basic electrical skills, basic carpentry * operation of ATVs, jet boats, and heavy equipment. * Prefer: * Demonstrated skill and ability to function as a competent team member in field activities. Ability to: * Perform physically demanding labor for extended periods of time. Work in teams, and work with minimal direct supervision for limited periods of time. Positively and consistently represent Idaho Power Company during interactions with the public, agency personnel. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: * High school diploma or GED. * Prefer: * Associates Degree in relevant discipline such as agriculture, natural resources, or trade craft. Experience: * 3 months of directly related experience. * Prefer: * 3 years of applicable experience. Licenses & Certifications: * Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position. Ability to obtain licenses or necessary certifications to complete specific additional job duties. * Prefer: * Demonstrated experience and ability to operate vehicles pulling trailers, and/or other equipment relevant to specific additional job duties . Licenses and certifications necessary to complete additional specific job duties. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and some holidays. Travel across Idaho Power service territory, with occasional overnight stays. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The Resource Technician I position consists of maintaining the grounds at several sites by using and maintaining a riding lawnmower, weed eater (20 lbs), edger (20 lbs), and backpack leaf blower (27 lbs). It may occasionally require the use of a 10-foot pole saw (30 lbs) and chainsaw (20 lbs) to aid in cleanup of fallen trees. A manual trencher will be used for up to 200 ft. at a time to repair and install sprinkler systems. Fire pit installation requires digging holes, pouring concrete (team lift 80 lbs) and setting the fire pit (60 lbs). Use of mops, brooms, rakes, and trash grabbers will be required to clean and maintain the property grounds and restrooms. A 6-foot ladder will be used to change and clean lights.
