Application Deadline: 01/15/2019 at 11:59 pm Mountain Time # of Positions: 1 Job Type: Regular Job End Date: Exemption Status: Exempt Pay Range: 69,368.00 - 83,553.60 Annual Minimum Age Requirement: Job Description: The Education and Outreach Advisor is a key representative for the Company in community outreach, education and public relations. Develops and maintains relationships with local service organizations (i.e. Lions, Rotary, Kiwanis, senior centers). Coordinates regional volunteer activities (e.g., rake-up events, paint events, local fund raising events). Helps maintain the Company's presence with customers through educational outreach to public audiences. Promotes a better understanding of the Company and the electrical utility industry by serving as a liaison through positive public interaction to enhance the company's mission, values, and brand identity. REQUIRED SKILLS Knowledge of: * Electric utility and energy industries, both U.S. and international * Idaho Power Company goals, strategies, policies, and structure * youth and adult learning styles. * Prefer: * English/Spanish language skills Skills in: * Adapt to various audience settings and group dynamics. Awareness of formal communication techniques to impact audience impact and understanding Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing * effectively negotiate. Education and training methods and techniques. Speak professionally to a variety of groups/organizations * Effective human relations and time management. Ability to: * Establish, facilitate, and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and members of the community * operate audio-visual computer equipment, personal computers, and various software programs * Current and valid driver license MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience. * Prefer: * Bachelor's degree in education, communication or business-related field. Experience: * Three years utility experience, demonstrated presentation experience with emphasis to public audiences. * Prefer: * Experience and course work in public relations and speech/communication or an equivalent combination of appropriate training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities. Licenses & Certifications: * Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Conduct presentations after regular business hours. Occasional overnight travel. As needed may participate in media promotional campaigns.
