    Through insightful technology and services, Itron is helping utilities and cities around the world better manage energy and water for generations to come.

    This position provides college students the opportunity to gain experience by supporting Itron’s Network Operation Center (NOC). The role has flexibility to work remotely. This intern will contribute to a vibrant team of individuals committed to collaboration and learning.

    The Intern - Junior NOC Engineer will help manage cases and assist with support projects.

    JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Review incident backlog and status.

    • Identify cases that need additional follow up.

    • Send status updates via the case to customers.

    • Assist with case data collection for metrics, customer reviews, etc.

    • Follow standard operating procedures.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • This 40 hour/week internship (M-F 8am - 5pm during summer) requires no professional work experience. Minimum 20 hours/week during academic year.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, and experience using other Microsoft Office products

    • Linux experience required, (tier 1 app. support, basic user level commands)

    • Ability to follow processes, read instructions, and follow standard operating procedures

    • Professional oral and written communication abilities

    • Education: Must be enrolled in an related degree program, preference for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or similar degree.

    PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Strong technical aptitude

    • Microsoft Office Certification (Excel, Access)

    • Experience following standard operating procedures

    • Familiarity with DEMs (distributed energy models)

    • Advanced Linux experience

    TRAVEL:

    • 1 - 10%
