This position provides college students the opportunity to gain experience by supporting Itron’s Network Operation Center (NOC). The role has flexibility to be on-site at Itron’s San Antonio location with flexibility for remote work. This intern will contribute to a vibrant team of individuals committed to collaboration and learning. The Intern - Junior NOC Engineer will help manage cases and assist with Support projects.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review incident backlog and status

• Support site reliability for the NOC

• Identify cases that need additional follow up

• Send status updates via the case to customers

• Assist with case data collection for metrics, customer reviews, etc.

• Follow standard operating procedures

DURATION:

This 40 hour/week internship requires no professional work experience. Minimum 20 hours/week during academic year. Flexibility to work weekends, and off-cycle business hours preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, and experience using other Microsoft Office products

• Linux experience required, (tier 1 app. support, basic user level commands)

• Ability to follow processes, read instructions, and follow standard operating procedures

• Professional oral and written communication abilities

• Education: Must be enrolled in an related degree program (preference for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology)

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Strong technical aptitude

• Microsoft Office Certification (Excel, Access)

• Experience following standard operating procedures

• Familiarity with DEMs (distributed energy models)

• Advanced Linux experience
