Itron is hiring an Intern for Incident & Problem Management projects. The intern will manage and triage projects with internal cross-functional teams and customers. The intern will help support various aspects of a project which include issue research, schedule coordination, create work order tickets, and document creation. Through training and mentorship, the intern is expected to deliver on assigned projects and tasks.

This position requires a strong technical background and a broad understanding in IT infrastructure and software deployment. Prefer student in technical or science disciplines such electrical engineering, computer science, or math with experience in one or more of the following areas - network, coding, and databases. Successful candidates must have good organizational skills, dependable, adaptive, attentive to details, ability to meet deadline and handle multiple projects simultaneously, pleasant, and professional.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate data preparation and analyzation for the project, including project documentation.

• Utilize project management methodology to manage activities in development and execution of projects, schedules, risk assessment and monitoring, resource allocation and status reporting.

• Responsible for day-to-day scope management, including meeting, status coordination, schedule and project planning, and work order ticket creation.

• Serve as liaison between technical personnel, functional business users, and customers.

• Actively participate in solution design, testing, and training.

• Communicate and negotiate professionally and promptly with stakeholders.

DURATION:

• This intern will contribute 40 hours/wk during the summer and academic breaks. Modified hours during the academic year.

EXPERIENCE:

• Participated in large projects in a team environment.

• Managed projects that involved multiple stake holders.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university working towards a degree in project management, information technology, telecommunications, or a related discipline.

• Ability to work in team focused environment, with a cross-functional team and matrixed organization.

• Professional level workplace communication skills, including interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.

• Ability to negotiate and communicate technical topics/issues clearly and concisely.

• Intermediate Excel skills.

• Experience working with MS Project and/or related MS Office tools.

PREFERRED:

• Related project management experience and/or certifications (i.e. Microsoft, PMP, Azure).

• Working knowledge of servers, networks, databases and software applications.

• Related master’s degree.

TRAVEL:

• Not required.
