An Intern - Systems Test Engineer supports the team by using current programming language and technologies, developing code, and performing testing and debugging of network application. Intern will be required to document all procedures for installation and maintenance and may also interact with users to define future system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
DURATION:
Internship to start immediately. At least 20 hours/wk during the acdemic year, and up to 40 hours/wk in summer.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support design and execution of test automation strategies
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on testability of functional requirements, product designs, and estimating/planning
Analyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate with and influence others to improve the overall design
Translate requirements to test cases
Develop and support the testing of product features throughout the entire development cycle
Assist with test strategy, test planning, and test execution
Help design and build advanced automated testing frameworks
Requires no professional experience. Previous internship or co/op experience is highly preferred.
EDUCATION
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Professional workplace communication skills, including effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Familiarity in quality assurance processes and in developing automation frameworks and automated tests
Exposure to front end automated testing tools, such as Selenium
Basic software development skills: C, C++, C#, Java, Python
Working knowledge of version control systems (ideally Git)
Strong documentation skills: Design and Functional Specifications
Available minimum 20 hours/wk during academic year, up to 40 hours/wk
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Debugging skills
Experience working in an Agile Development Environment
Knowledge of multi-threading application development
