Interested in making the world more resourceful in cloud based IoT energy management solutions?
You will join a global manage services team that builds tools to automate and streamline processes regarding the development and deployment of monitors for Itron infrastructure and services. You will develop and deploy Itron monitors and applications, and act as the point of escalation on related configuration issues.
Tech Stack:Kubernetes, Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana, Jenkins, Azure, Monitoring Development, Ansible, Python
We do agile development with SCRUM methodology, and we use Azure DevOps Services (ADS) for task handling (ticketing), source control and for CI/CD.
Please note, that the position requires performing occasionally maintenance and off-hours projects.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Design, automate and develop monitors with scripts such as python, shell/PowerShell
Document and design various processes; update existing processes
Manage logging and monitoring with Nagios, Azure Monitor, Splunk, ELK etc.
Point of escalation for Itron application deployment issues and monitoring incidents.
Help us improve our current CI/CD process and automate routine tasks
Collaborate with engineering teams and tech ops teams to understand how to monitor their applications and infrastructure
Devise creative solutions to problems and either implement them yourself or work with other teams to do so.
Embed with other teams to champion best practices around reliability, scalability, and observability.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
A self-starter who has the ability and willingness to learn new material quickly and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability and willingness to take initiative and to drive projects to effective implementation
Collaboration with multiple development teams and product teams
Capable of creating clear technical documentation
Strong Linux experience and troubleshooting skills with basic understanding of networking
Experience writing code in a programming language such as Ruby, Python, Go, etc.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
EDUCATION
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Experience with entire DevOps lifecycle - Orchestration, Configuration, CI/CD, Monitoring, Security
Experience with laying down best practices for monitoring
Experience with the Kubernetes container orchestration, service data mesh and service discovery frameworks
Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, Kibana, Splunk/ELK, Nagios, Azure
