Requisition Number: 18-34327 Job Title: Environmental Policy Intern Area of Interest: Internships Job Description: Job Description » Participate in the development of policies and strategies for SoCalGas. » Provide analysis of environmental policies that could impact SoCalGas and its customers. » Track and provide analysis of local/regional planning efforts and identify ways for SoCalGas to engage. » Work with appropriate business units to coordinate review and responses on pending legislation. Responsibilities » Update and manage environmental policy priority database and internal database of contacts. » Track legislation, regulations and other environmental policies and inform the team about relevant dates and times. » Identify and summarize technical studies related to our policy priorities. » Review and categorize comments and positions from stakeholder groups. » Conduct research as necessary to support our environmental policy positions. External Qualifications: This is a summer position and requires 40 hours/week, 8 weeks over Summer Qualifications » Candidate must be current undergraduate student studying environmental management, environmental policy, environmental economics, environmental science, city and regional planning or related field. » Must have comprehensive writing skills and strong oral communications. » Ability to set priorities, coordinate and synthesize information from a variety of sources. » Ability to research, organize and present information in a compelling way. » Knowledge of energy and environmental policies desired. » Competitive compensation based on school standing and discipline.
