Summer Hacker in Residence ($10K for the summer)
Work with the General Catalyst Investment team on a number of internal tech-enabled projects related to sourcing deals and supporting our portfolio.
Student should (a) have prior summer work experience; (b) be a CS major or experiential equivalent; (c) have the ability to write memos and powerpoint presentations articulately; (d) be seasoned at end-to-end data extraction, wrangling, cleaning, manipulation, analysis, reporting, and visualization; (e) have practical experience sourcing structured and semi-structured data from public and private web service APIs; (f) have strong skills with data science tool chain components like Python, R, shell scripts, d3.js, and other contemporary tools; (g) have firm command of fundamental statistical analysis tools and techniques; (h) be comfortable working in a loosely structured environment using agile project management techniques; and (i) be broadly familiar with the terminology and culture of the software startup and venture capital ecosystem
