About the Role: We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to work with engineering on process development/build activities associated within our Interventional Cardiology group at the Boston Scientific Santa Rosa facility. This is a newly created position in a growing segment of our business Your Responsibilities Will Include: - Responsible for the subassembly and final assembly processes of product prior to sterilization. - Experience in continuous improvement; specific to medical device manufacturing. - Ability to develop methods of assembly and document in work instructions and train builders in appropriate build techniques. - Ability to perform testing and accurately record data in laboratory notebook or Excel spreadsheets for further engineering analysis. - Ability to perform fine/delicate assembly work including: thin film manipulation, adhesive bonding and wire stringing. - Familiar with GMP and the safe handling of medical devices. - Assisting in the analyzing, designing, and implementation of manufacturing and business process improvement, resulting in increased capacity, reduce lead-time, reduction in the work-in-process, improve fill-rates, and improve process flow and efficiency. - Assisting in the design, implementation and maintenance of effective metrics with internal customers or suppliers to ensure unbridled supply is achieved. - Effectively communicates process and design feedback to the engineer to drive fixture and process improvements. - Utilize analytical and problem solving skills to identify process/product improvements. - Technically analyze and test the reliability and functionality of prototype equipment, tooling and processes. - Manage machined component inventory and order replacements as needed. - Manage the build plan and work instructions of engineering builds and lead the training plans for product builders. - Participates in multiple facets groups across the organization including manufacturing, design, supplier development, and documentation. What We're Looking For In You: Minimum Qualifications: - AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline. - 2 - 3 years work experience in a manufacturing environment. - Ability to perform testing and accurately record data in laboratory notebook or Excel spreadsheets for further engineering analysis - Ability to develop methods of assembly and document in work instructions and train builders in appropriate build techniques. - Ability to perform fine/delicate assembly work including: thin film manipulation, adhesive bonding and wire stringing - Flexibility to try new methods and willingness / eagerness to communicate new process and fixture ideas Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in process development specific to catheters; including assembly and fixture development. - Assisting in the analyzing, designing, and implementation of manufacturing and business process improvement, resulting in increased capacity, reduce lead-time, reduction in the work-in-process, improve fill-rates, and improve process flow and efficiency. - Assisting in the design, implementation and maintenance of effective metrics with engineers and production supervisors to ensure unbridled supply is achieved. - Participates in multiple facets groups across the organization including manufacturing, design, supplier development, and documentation. - Create strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure project success - Makes recommendations to manufacturing teams, which drive higher yielding, lower cost, more manufacturable products.
