Summary of Position with General Responsibilities Internships can be found in all departments working on a variety of projects ranging from product testing to post market launch. Interns work under close supervision by the sponsoring function. It is a mutually beneficial relationship as Bard creates a learning environment where the intern obtains industry hands-on experience. Our Internships are generally one year in length/1,000 hours of work time. You must be able to work 15-20 hrs a week during the school year. This would be M-F during normal business hours. Essential Job Functions The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive. CAD drawings Work with multiple teams to create detailed 2D mechanical drawings that will be used for either the creation and assembly of machines and other mechanical equipment or to document product specifications. Duties will be assigned by the sponsoring function and will relate to the project in which they are assigned Basic Qualifications Working towards a Bachelor degree in science or engineering. Currently working on an AS or BS degree in engineering or design/drafting Preferred: 0-2 years in industrial or mechanical drafting Familiar with GD&T tolerance and ANSI drawing standards. Strong communication skills to confidently explain information and converse with customers/clients Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Knowledge of PDM Professional (aka EPDM) a plus. The incumbent must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the duties and responsibilities. Physical Demands This position is in an office and laboratory environment and requires the incumbent to sit, stand and perform general office functions.
