As a Field Operations Intern at Crescent Electric, you will gain exposure to various functions within operations by working directly with Field Operations and Regional Distribution Center (RDC) teams. In this role, you will champion the inventory recovery initiatives to support the reduction and pull back of inventory across the territory served by Crescent Electric’s Regional Distribution Center located in Des Moines, IA. Travel is required to locations in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, and South Dakota.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Perform sample cycle counts in field locations to gauge inventory accuracy prior to pull back.

• Conduct full physical counts in buildings with large variances on the sample cycle counts.

• Locate material staged in the counter area of service locations to be excluded from the inventory recovery initiatives.

• Pick, pack, and stage all items identified by our Inventory Planning Team as over stock to be sent back to the RDC.

• Communicate with the transportation department to coordinate pick up of materials recovered from service locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Must be able to travel 4 consecutive days each week for the duration of the internship.

• Must be able to work 8-10 weeks during the internship period.

• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.

• Must be able to work independently and in a team-based environment.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills.

• Possess comprehensive computer skills and have the aptitude to learn supply chain software programs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program with relevant coursework in business, supply chain, or operations; or 2+ years of related work experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree program enrollment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Valid driver’s license.

• Must meet Crescent Electric’s Driving Policy requirements.

• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
