    Product Development Internship West Henrietta, NY, US -Position summary -Description Gain valuable work experience working with a passionate team dedicated to advancing national science education. VWR Wards Science, a national science education company located in Rochester, NY for over 150 years, is seeking to hire a summer intern (paid, full-time) with experience in project-based learning or inquiry-based learning in one or more STEM courses. Interns will participate in project aimed at one or more of the following areas: Product Development -Working with our product development team the intern will help to create and evaluate new and existing biotech or biomedical products. The intern may contribute to the development of entirely new products or activities, improve the materials and information provided and create new resources to increase the value of our products. Market Research -Supporting the science education portfolio team, the intern will be charged with evaluating new and existing markets for potential. With this market analysis complete, the intern will then work to identify new and exciting products that can help improve STEM education. The intern will perform research in teaching journals and on science education listservs and websites to find products that may help fill gaps in our product portfolio. The intern will gain understanding of developing an evidence-based business case. Content Developer -The intern would support our marketing, sales and portfolio teams to develop new resources that can help educators collaborate and/or incorporate more STEM into their lessons. This might involve developing templates for teachers and students to collect and share data or creating short tip sheets to suggest ways for teachers to collect and analyze class data. Illustrations and concept maps may also be developed to help teachers and their students understand the ideas illustrated by our products. Manufacturing -Develop understanding the production requirements on a daily/weekly basis for different manufacturing areas (Kitting, Geo, PM, Live/Slides). Support continuous improvement opportunities that drive manufacturing efficiencies, reduce labor costs, increase productivity, or streamline process work flow. -Interns will report to Dr. Liam Casey, Director of Portfolio Management Science Education. Completed work may contribute to products used by science teachers across the United States and Canada.
