Procurement Specialist VWR International, LLC 401 reviews - Radnor, PA Description Responsible for purchasing non-core commodity products, chemicals, equipment, and supplies. As a Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for all aspects of daily order management and be able to solve complex problems with innovation and ingenuity. Job Responsibilities: * Calculates and updates Customer pricing based on applicable pricing rules. Expedites, cancels /defers and ensures system generated and manual purchase orders are aligned to support Customer need dates. * Serves as liaison between VWR Customers and Suppliers, maintaining positive vendor relationships. Evaluates suppliers based on capability, performance and delivery. * Works with suppliers to improve cost, quality, delivery, and lead time. * Key owner of supplier relationship (with VWR Cat Mgr.). Confirms customer order with vendor. Owns and resolves the daily tactical supply chain issues; Backorder resolution, Open Order Expediting, Lead time management, Supplier production issues, etc, Authority to commit VWR resources. * Determines customer specific pricing based on pricing rules. Enters customer specific pricing in appropriate VWR systems. Reconciles pricing issues with AP. * Identifies and corrects Supply Chain constraints by acting as liaison between Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse and Suppliers. * Analyzes key trends in order history in the context of the Customers Supply Chain processes to proactively identify and propose key process improvements to the Supplier and VWR functional teams. * Negotiates on behalf of VWR to maintain positive supplier relationships. * Negotiates and settles with suppliers: damage claims, rejections, losses, returns, over shipments, cancellations, and discontinuations. * Collaborates with the appropriate VWR functional teams to ensure timely resolution of issues. * Identifies cross reference opportunities; buyer req reviews, identify new sources of supply to increase profitability. * Performs other duties as assigned. Experience & Skills: * Solid written and verbal communication skills, work experience in a matrix environment desirable. * Strong analytical skills * Formal problem solving training highly desirable, i.e. Six Sigma * Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel. Qualifications: * BS degree in Logistics, Business, or Mathematics preferred or equivalent experience * At least 1 year of experience working in a procurement capacity is required. * Demonstrated proficiency in Excel Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

• Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. * Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. * A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. * Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
