    Role Summary

    Work with the Director - Back of the House (BOH) + Financial Management in pursuit of excellence in BOH Operations and Financial Management. Specifically this role is a leader and critical component in ensuring that Chick-fil-A Dulles Discovery is successful in the following areas:

    Financial Stewardship management through Food Cost, Labor Cost and Repairs & Maint.

    Yearly & Quarterly Planning

    Back of House Staffing and Operations

    Leadership and People Development of Back of House Team

    Vision and Service Model compliance throughout all areas of oversight.

    General Responsibilities:

    Develop a restaurant culture of growth and hospitality minded team members and leaders. A culture of product knowledge, stewardship, excitement and generosity. Incorporate this into training, ongoing development, communications and everyday culture. Think Teavana, Apple. This is a culture change.

    Maintain vision alignment with the Operator and the Director - Back of the House + Financial Management.

    Participate in monthly BOH Team meetings

    Ensure stewardship systems are taking place throughout the restaurant

    Create a center of excellence for area of responsibility by creating, leading, and implementing systems that will be the standard for innovation and high performance teams throughout Chick-fil-A.

    Develop leaders in such a way that they are operating as a motivated, high performance team that embodies the vision of the business. This should be highly intentional and happening each and every day through goal-setting and regular performance feedback.

    Support Director - Back of the House (BOH) + Financial Management to create, maintain and approve all schedule and shift changes among BOH Team Members. Ensure that leaders are finding appropriate coverage for call-offs and no shows.

    Perform discipline for actions that do not meet CFA standards and execute discipline documentation for all team members who fail to meet expectations.

    Working with Director - Back of the House (BOH) + Financial Management during hiring process, completing resume screening, interviews and reference checks as necessary.

    Ensure Team Leaders are performing discipline for actions that do not meet Chick-fil-A standards as well as violations of the Team Member Handbook.

    Oversee speed of service and completion of goals.

    Drive sales growth mentality and encourage creativity and innovation throughout the business.

    Back of House Responsibilities:

    Approve the quality of opening and closing procedures by performing regular walk throughs with leadership team.

    Ensure and coach Team Members and Leaders to consistently follow all Chick-fil-A processes and procedures.

    Complete Scheduling in a way that positively impacts the business for labor costs and allows for proper execution of 2MS, OE and EC.

    Create, maintain and approve all schedule and shift changes among Team Members. Ensure that leaders are finding appropriate coverage for call-offs and no shows.

    Proficient in all positions throughout restaurant.

    Understand the federal and local health code regulations.

    Assist Director in Time Punch Management.

    Work with the Front Counter Team to eliminate labor at every opportunity in real-time.

    Follow all Chick-fil-A standards and procedures. Ensure and coach Team Members/Leaders to consistently follow all Chick-fil-A processes and procedures.

    Work with Financial Return Director and Training Director/Team to ensure all kitchen employees are trained properly.

    Protect the customer experience by ensuring packaging, food presentation and quality is top level.

    Use RQA and CEM findings to ensure consistency and quality of products. Address areas of improvement immediately. Work with Training Director/Team to address problems and create and action list.

    Ensure all system and processes are in effect – LEAN, Cleanliness, Waste, Chicken Tracking, etc.

    Work with Operator and Director team to oversee all BOH repairs and maintenance needs are executed.

    Coach the behaviors of all Team Leaders and Team Members who work in the Kitchen. See Service Model.

    Ensure Leadership Team is completing all expectations of Service Model – Daily RQAs, iAuditor, etc.

    Inventory Management

    End-of-Month counts and input

    Maintaining accurate transfer logs

    Effective & efficient ordering

    Overall Inventory and store organization

    Assist Director in maintaining and overseeing Kitchen employee performance review system.

    Lead regular and ongoing coaching sessions with Team Leaders while empowering them to have regular meetings with their Team Leaders – sharing steps for improvement.

    Create ongoing/daily relationship with Front Counter Managers – both working to ensure all parts of the business are in full support of each other.

    Ensure all kitchen employees are always in full uniform/groomed property, etc.

    Responsible for development of all kitchen team members, team leaders and managers.

    Create, lead and implement systems that will be the standard for all kitchen innovation and high performance teams throughout the restaurant.

    Understand elements of labor cost while making daily decisions that positively impact these areas of the business by eliminating the Labor Cost Gap.

    Ensure kitchen is always clean and organized by creating and implementing a cleanliness/maintenance schedule.

    Financial Management:

    Ensure and coach Team Members/Leaders to consistently follow all Chick-fil-A recipe and portioning procedures to minimize food waste and ensure consistency.

    Manage Labor Tracking systems and be advocate and leader within manager teams of labor goals and trends.

    Lead labor management through productivity sheets throughout restaurant on all shifts.

    Oversee all waste systems to ensure accurate information is being captured.

    Work with training team to ensure that all leaders and team members are managing costs and using stewardship mentality all day, every day.

    Assist Financial Return Director in execution of Repairs and Maintenance schedules throughout restaurant.

    Ensure that Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Cleaning checklists are being used throughout restaurant to maximize equipment performance.

    Report to Operator and Financial Return Director trends within labor and food waste to ensure accurate monthly projections.

    Yearly & Quarterly Planning:

    Work with Financial Return Director to complete Annual Business Plan.

    Create quarterly plans based on business fluctuations, goals and needs for BOH Management Teams.

    Preferred qualifications:
