RETAIL MERCHANDISER

Johnny’s Markets is changing the way people think about convenience stores, and as a Retail Merchandiser, you’ll play a key role in developing the customer experience at our chain of 60+ locations. With direction from our Merchandising Manager, you’ll ensure that stores are presented consistently, and to Johnny’s brand standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Assist store management team in the proper merchandising of the store, including, but not limited to, coolers and freezers, general merchandise, promotional displays, coffee and fountain centers, fast food merchandisers, and exterior merchandise displays.
• Drives from site to site across the WDP retail network up to and exceeding 200 miles per day, 5 days per week (usually Monday-Friday)
• Promotes a fresh and positive image to customers through high merchandising standards and retail execution
• Works with store management team on updating merchandising tags
• Assists store management team on ordering/stocking of new items
• Ensures stock levels on “red dot”/” never out of stock” items are in place.
• Writes credits on guaranteed merchandise from grocery wholesaler.
• Ensures accuracy/approved signage is in place.
• Perform store resets but not limited to moving equipment and shelving on the floor and in the cold vault
• Monitor store inventory levels/out-of-stocks/overstock situations
• Email weekly schedule and activity reports to the Merchandising Manager
• Helps to provide a positive customer experience by assisting Store Management team in maintaining a clean and safe environment in a manner consistent with company standards.
• Assists in ensuring that all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including those regarding the sale of tobacco and alcohol are adhered to.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Proven work experience in merchandise control, bookkeeping, and data entry skills.
• Ability to build displays and move shelving.
• A valid driver's license and ability to drive up to and exceeding 200 miles per day, 5 days per week.
• Associate degree or at least 1-2 years of experience in retail environments
• Basic computer and software skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and email).
• Ability to bend, stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and frequently carry up to 10 lbs.
• Some marketing experience and skills are a plus.
