    Industrial Engineer

    Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00

    Location: Smithville, TN

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Industrial Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving operational

    production environment. This role applies engineering principles and statistical methods to design,

    analyze, and enhance workflows, layouts, and production standards. The Industrial Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure cost-effective operations, high-quality output, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / DUTIES:

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Apply statistical methods and perform calculations to determine optimal manufacturing processes,

    staffing requirements, and production standards.

    Design and optimize layouts for equipment, materials, and workspaces using CAD tools and computer

    applications to maximize efficiency.

    Review production schedules, engineering specifications, and related documentation to establish

    effective manufacturing methods and procedures.

    Requisition tooling, capital equipment, and trial materials for new and existing projects.

    Develop and implement manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to improve productivity and reduce waste.

    Collaborate with management and production teams to establish and maintain design and production

    standards.

    Analyze operational sequences, material flow, and organizational structures to identify opportunities for improvement.

    Implement value analysis and value engineering initiatives to enhance cost-effectiveness.

    Evaluate statistical data and product specifications to set quality and reliability objectives for finished

    products.

    Assess the precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and recommend corrective

    actions when necessary.

    Adjust workflow schedules based on lead times and manufacturing sequences to expedite production

    operations.

    Lead continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.

    Support strategic planning for future projects and capacity expansion.

    QUALIFICATIONS:


    Progression Path with Post-Secondary Education

    BA or BS degree in engineering or manufacturing-related field (preferred, not
    required)

    Progression Path without Post-Secondary Education

    High School Diploma or GED is required

    5+ years of progressive experience in engineering or automotive manufacturing or
    project management

    Certification in industrial engineering or related fields is preferred.

    Proficiency in CAD tools, statistical analysis software, and integrated computer systems.
    Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.

    Ability to draft and edit technical documentation and correspondence.

    Experience in automotive manufacturing and familiarity with lean principles and continuous
    improvement methodologies.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Expertise in process optimization and cost analysis.

    Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and manage multiple priorities.

    Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.
