    📍 Location: Allegany and Garrett Counties 🕒 Job Type: Full-time / Part-time 💰 Salary Range: $20 - $25 per hour 🎯 Experience Required: 1-2 years working with youth, behavioral health, healthcare support, or human services populations

    About the Role

    Wise Minds Therapeutic Services LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Community-Based One-to-One Support Staff to provide direct supervision, mentoring, behavioral support, and life skills coaching to youth receiving out-of-home and community-based services across Maryland.

    This role focuses on ensuring the safety, stability, and emotional well-being of youth while supporting the development of social, coping, and independent living skills. Staff work closely with clinical leadership and care coordination teams to implement individualized service plans in home and community settings.

    Candidates with experience in behavioral health, assisted living, healthcare support, residential services, youth mentoring, or direct care are encouraged to apply.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    Direct Support & Supervision

    ✔️ Provide one-to-one supervision and support to youth in home, school, and community settings ✔️ Model appropriate social, coping, and communication skills ✔️ Assist youth in developing independence, emotional regulation, and daily living skills ✔️ Accompany youth to appointments, activities, and community-based programs as needed ✔️ Maintain professional boundaries using a trauma-informed approach

    Behavioral & Clinical Support

    ✔️ Implement individualized behavioral strategies based on service plans ✔️ Participate in crisis prevention and de-escalation interventions ✔️ Monitor and document behavioral progress and daily activities ✔️ Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding youth progress and concerns ✔️ Reinforce positive behaviors and support youth during emotional challenges

    Documentation & Compliance

    ✔️ Complete service notes, progress reports, and timesheets accurately and timely ✔️ Maintain confidentiality and comply with DHS, COMAR, and agency standards ✔️ Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required trainings

    Requirements

    🔹 Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation 🔹 High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of experience OR Associate’s degree + 1 year in human services, behavioral health, healthcare support, or related field 🔹 Experience working with at-risk youth, foster care, behavioral health, assisted living, residential care, or community-based populations preferred 🔹 Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills 🔹 Must pass CJIS background check, CPS clearance, and sex offender registry screening

    Preferred Backgrounds & Experience

    Experience in the following roles is highly valued due to transferable skills in supervision, documentation, client support, crisis response, and community care:

    ✔️ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) ✔️ Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) ✔️ Medication Technician (Med Tech) ✔️ Direct Support Professional (DSP) ✔️ Residential Counselor ✔️ Behavioral Health Technician ✔️ Psychiatric Rehabilitation Staff ✔️ Youth Mentor or Community Support Worker

    Training & Certification Requirements

    Staff are required to complete the following (preferred at hire, required upon onboarding):

    ✔️ CPR and First Aid Certification ✔️ Crisis Prevention & Intervention (CPI) or equivalent ✔️ Trauma-Informed Care Training ✔️ Mandated Reporter Training ✔️ HIPAA / Confidentiality Compliance ✔️ DHS-required onboarding and orientation

    Wise Minds provides support and reimbursement for required trainings.

    Ongoing Professional Development

    All staff must complete a minimum of two (2) in-service trainings annually, including topics such as:

    ✔️ Child Safety ✔️ De-escalation Techniques ✔️ Youth Engagement Strategies ✔️ Executive Skills Coaching

    Schedule & Compensation

    🕒 Flexible scheduling available, including day, evening, after-school, and weekend shifts based on youth needs

    💰 $20 - $25 per hour based on experience and qualifications
