POSITION SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the development of novel biochemical assays both from external customers and for internal drug discovery programs to make them compatible with our microfluidics HTS platform. This role will require close collaboration work with systems engineers and production specialists. In our highly interconnected work environment, a team-player mentality and can-do attitude is essential. This position is 100% on-site at 1859 Inc.’s headquarters.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and performing experiments independently to develop mix and read assays for our microfluidics screening platform
Collaborating with System Integration team to test and troubleshoot problems
Presenting experimental data to peers and management in regular group meetings and cross-department update meetings
Leading technology transfer efforts to Screening Integration team within given deadlines
Leading development and validation of new methods and optimization of processes
Performing general lab duties (e.g. ordering consumables, maintaining lab equipment, etc.)
Maintaining accurate and complete records in electronic notebook
Preparing and updating documentation as needed (SOPs, Batch Records, etc.)
Being compliant with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
REQUIREMENTS:
Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Enzymology, or related discipline
0 - 3 years of relevant working experience in industry or post-doctoral research
Previous experience in target discovery, assay development or HTS
Previous experience with Prism and Microsoft Office Suite
Aseptic laboratory technique and dexterity is required
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to adapt within a fast-changing environment
