    Job Summary

    1st Class Martial Arts is seeking an experienced and highly motivated martial arts instructor to join our team. We are looking for someone who has experience teaching children and who can help them develop both their martial arts techniques and their life skills. This instructor will also have the opportunity to become our future head instructor and will be involved in developing training programs for our students.

    Responsibilities

    Teach martial arts classes to children and potentially adults

    Help students improve their martial arts techniques and physical fitness

    Teach students important life skills such as self-discipline, respect, and confidence

    Assist with day-to-day operations of the studio

    Develop classes that are physically challenging, while keeping students engaged and safe

    Encourage students to continue with their pursuit of exercising and help them make good health decisions

    Promote programs, classes, and membership through social media and networking

    Deliver exceptional customer service in accordance with business policies

    Qualifications

    Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching martial arts

    Experience working with children

    A background in Tang Soo Do, Taekwondo, Karate or a related discipline

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to work well as part of a team

    Current instructor certification or personal trainer preferred

    Knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics is preferred

    First aid and CPR certified preferred

    Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills

    Excellent organizational and time management skills

    Schedule:

    Part-time 90 days contractor position with potential for employment opportunity after 90 days.

    Hours for the school are from 3 pm to 8:30 pm Monday-Thursday and Saturday from 9:30 am - 2 pm. Private lessons on Fridays from 3 - 7 pm. The hours will depend on your schedule and business needs.

    You may be able to work additional hours for summer camp if there is a good fit.
