First Trinity Academy is a private Pre-K through 9th-grade school in Leesburg, Florida, dedicated to cultivating critical thinking, academic excellence, and character development. Our classrooms are intentionally small to ensure individualized attention, meaningful instruction, and a strong sense of community.
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and highly skilled 1st Grade Teacher with a strong foundation in English Language Arts (ELA) instruction. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of early literacy development, including phonics, reading fluency, comprehension, and writing. and demonstrates excellent classroom management skills. This teacher will inspire a love for reading and learning through engaging lessons that balance structure and creativity.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement daily lesson plans focused on ELA, mathematics, science, and social studies
Provide systematic phonics, vocabulary, and writing instruction aligned with grade-level standards
Differentiate instruction for a small, diverse group of learners
Foster critical thinking and strong communication skills through interactive and hands-on learning
Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records
Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support each student’s academic and personal growth
Uphold classroom management practices that promote respect, responsibility, and joy in learning
Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities
Implement effective classroom management techniques that maintain engagement and discipline
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
Florida teaching certification (preferred, not required)
Demonstrated strength in ELA instruction, particularly in phonics and reading comprehension
Experience with small class environments or differentiated instruction preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Commitment to fostering a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom atmosphere
