    We are currently seeking a **Manufacturing Engineering Intern** to join our internship program.

    AeroVironment is a technology solutions provider at the intersection of future defining capabilities that include robotics, sensors, software analytics and connectivity.     You’ll have real responsibilities that impact actual products. You will work on projects and network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality, and efficiency of our operations.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develops, maintains, and improves manufacturing processes with a focus on efficiency and quality
    • Update and release work instructions, assembly procedures, and supporting documentation controlling the manufacturing process
    • Establish Sequence of manufacturing process and product builds
    • Participate in root cause analysis and problem solving to resolve issues related to materials, design, equipment, and people
    • Collect and analyze production data in order to drive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) improvements
    • Other tasks assigned by Manufacturing Engineering Manager

  • Qualifications

    What you’ll need to succeed:

    • Possess a desire to build things; have a strong engineering aptitude; and thrive working in a team environment.
    • Effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Visio, Excel, and Outlook
    • Effectively communicates with technicians, engineering, management, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and other considerations to facilitate and improve production processes
    • Ability to use statistical methods to optimize production processes is a plus
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
    • Relevant internship experience a plus
    • Completed coursework relevant to major
    • General engineering fundamentals, mathematics, physics, material properties

    Qualifications

    • **U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or** _**asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required**_
    • Must be currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a major related to work assignment during the internship
    • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 out of a 4.0 GPA or equivalent
    • Must be available to work full time (40 hours per week) during summer months

    AV offers the ultimate hands-on intern experience that will help prepare you for your future. We provide relocation and housing for students out of state and have a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).

    **ITAR Requirement:**

    _This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants will be asked to provide specific documentation to verify U.S. person status under the ITAR and the EAR. A “U.S. person” according to their definition is a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or protected individual such as a refugee, or asylee.
