1st Edge is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team. In this position, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining software for the Missile Defense Agency. You will be instrumental in developing complex software applications, to include creating and maintaining graphical front-end interfaces, visualization toolsets, SQL Database interfaces, multi-user GUI interfaces, and rule base assessments. This position is on-site at 1st Edge LLC or customer location in Huntsville, AL.
Required qualifications:
3+ years of related experience
You must be a U.S. Citizen
Active DoD security clearance required
Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, mathematics, or related discipline
This an on-site position working full-time in a DoD facility on Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following tasks:
Design, develop, test, verify, sustain and fully document software for missile defense data center applications
Develop complex software applications involving graphical front-end interfaces, visualization toolsets, SQL Database interfaces, multi-user GUI interfaces, and rule base assessments
Work with application product owners to decompose Use Case entities into software requirements
Troubleshoot production problems related to deployment of software applications
Evaluate software requirements and implementation to determine if requirements were met in deliverable software
Use agile methodology to support the rapid development and delivery of standardized, reliable, integrated and secure capabilities to the applicable stakeholder
Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of HW/SW applications and testing tools
Migrate legacy COTS/GOTS on-premises hardware and software applications to the agency hybrid cloud services
Work as member of an integrated software development team that leverages personnel and materiel efficiencies across multiple efforts
Perform software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software reviews, software risk analysis, and software reliability analysis
Conduct software testing and user/system requirements verification/validation processes and procedures
Performs analysis on new software developments and revisions to existing systems to enhance system efficiencies
Evolve Missile Defense Agency software development methodologies for legacy software tools to the use of DevSecOps, Agile, and Continuous Integration, Continuous Development, and Continuous Deployment software development approaches
Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience
Work with project leads, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet business requirements
Desired Skills Include:
Experience analyzing requirements and developing cloud ready solutions to support software development and data collection/services capabilities in the cloud
Experience in development of software user manuals and technical reports
Knowledge of Missile Defense System test processes related to data management, scheduling, planning and commitments across all types of tests
