    Aesthetics Research Internship Overview

    Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie’s Experiential Interns.

    The Intern will serve as a lab assistant to aid Aesthetics Research in drug discovery for hair growth.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Work as key scientific personnel and support team for research activities under the supervision of a mentor.
    • Practice the proficient and safe use of all equipment necessary for the completion of all duties and responsibilities.
    • Apply software tools for data analysis and interpretation.
    • Present findings to senior personnel, in team meetings or to multidisciplinary teams.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pathology, Immunology or related field.
    • Must be enrolled in university during the internship period and graduate between August 2024 - July 2025.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • In vitro experience working with cell culture and cellular experiments. Direct experience with complex in vitro cell model development and characterization, primary cell isolation and culture and 3D cell model imaging and image analysis is a plus.
    • Familiarity with molecular biology experimental techniques including Western Blot, ELISA, immunostaining, qPCR and data analysis.
    • Knowledge of MS-Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required. Knowledge of graphing software (e.g., GraphPad prism) and basic understanding of statistical analyses is a plus.
    • High scientific rigor and commitment, and excellent teamwork skills.

    The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

    The salary range is: (minimum: $12,526.56 to maximum: $16,301.70)
