    Precision Medicine Pathology Data Scientist Internship Overview

    Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie Interns.

    The Precision Medicine Pathology Data Scientist Intern will be responsible for importing multiple study data endpoints into a brand new database. The Pathology team within the Precision Medicine organization is building momentum towards an interactive data visualization tool, and this work will be instrumental towards this end.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Clean and transform data
    • Ensure data integrity
    • Collaborate with pathology and data scientists
    • Perform quality control on all data going into the system

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Computer Science, or other related field
    • Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
    • Expected graduation date between December 2024 - July 2025

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Ability to move large amounts of data with no errors
    • Programming skills may be useful
    • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including analysis
    • Self-motivated; ability to execute with limited supervision and direction. Can work independently or part of a team.
    • Proficient in required software including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook )
