    Job Description

    As a Structural Engineering Intern at KPFF, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience in various phases of the design and construction process. This internship provides valuable structural analysis, modeling, and design exposure while allowing you to contribute ideas and solutions that enhance project efficiency and integrity.

    Throughout the internship, you will:

    • Collaborate with seasoned engineers on structural projects during design, analysis, and construction phases.
    • Conduct structural analysis, simulations, and calculations using Revit, RAM, and RISA tools.
    • Use Revit to assist in creating structural drawings and specifications.
    • Participate in site visits and inspections, gaining practical insights into construction processes.
    • Contribute to team discussions and problem-solving efforts, bringing fresh perspectives to the project.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in civil or architectural engineering with an emphasis in structures.
    • Completion of statics, mechanics of materials, and at least one design course (e.g. concrete, steel, wood, or masonry) by the start of the internship.
    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong technical and organizational abilities, with an ability to work collaboratively.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands:

    • Interns primarily work in a standard office setting with occasional travel to project sites.
    • Field visits may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.
    • Must comply with all safety requirements in the office and on job sites.

    Internship Duration:

    • The internship typically runs 10-12 weeks during the summer, with full-time hours.
    • Exact start and end dates may vary depending on the student’s availability.
