    About Us:21st Century Charter School at Gary is a free K-12+ public charter school. We are building a team of excellence. We are the top performing charter school in Gary, Indiana. We are one of the few Indiana schools offering an early college program, which allows our qualifying high school students to take real college courses for real college credit, free of charge to our students and their families. Our curriculum and our teaching methods are designed using Core Knowledge in K-8, Project Lead the Way beginning in middle school, and a blended learning model in middle school through high school.     REPORTS TO/TERM:

    Administrative Team

    Full Time 10-month position

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum 60 college credit hours

    Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

    Demonstrate excellent Science skills (Science tutor)

    Experience in tutoring in High School Science and College Science preferred College Science proficiency on the Knowledge Assessment

    Technical requirements for the position include experience with Word, Excel, Google Suite, and learning management systems.

    ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

    Work one-on-one and in small groups with students on things such as:

    High School & College level Science (priority)

    Test preparation co-teaching

    Support and provide tutoring for students with on-line Science courses

    Study skills

    Test taking strategies

    Time management

    Setting goals

    Coverage for distance education courses

    Assist and support students taking with college courses in the specific area

    Brain-storming new ideas to help motivate students

    Helping with after school events

    Other duties as assigned

    Maintain frequent communication with students and their support network regarding academic progress

    Communicate and collaborate with teachers and school administrators

    Participate in staff development opportunities

    Participate in all required staff meetings

    Ensure the security of computer equipment and accessories

    Dress professionally and uphold all school policies

    Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate by the Principal
