REPORTS TO/TERM:
Administrative Team
Full Time / 10 month position + 2 weeks in the Summer
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 60 college credit hours
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Canvas
Experience working
Must have a valid driver's license
Familiar with dual credit/dual enrollment programming
Must be flexible; and work well in non-traditional High School settings
Technical requirements for the position include experience with Google & Microsoft Products: Word, Excel, Sheets, etc.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:A Student Support Specialist is required to perform the following duties:
Individual Case Management
Work with assigned students in the CCR program. All Support Specialists
have a caseload of 65 students.
Advocate and research college supports and resources
Students that struggle within the CCR program must get put on academic
probation and plan (create a plan that students adhere to it
Provide intensive support to all academic probation students
Make sure to put in goal and track progress on a weekly basis
Work diligently with the student and parent with the goal best intent and
academic goals in mind
Files/Documentation must be kept for each student.
Files should include: meeting notes, a copy of student’s schedule,
any login or password for that student, semester grades, etc.
Attend orientation and assist w/ new student transition on-campus
Attend CCR parent orientations/university
Reporting & Feedback
Must attend weekly meetings (Friday)
Must be prepared to report weekly on individual caseloads (Mondays)
Grades at the end of terms should be collected and a copy must go in student’s
files and given to the Director
Track attendance and address any attendance or behavioral issues; calling
parents and having
Advocate for the student at the high school making sure they are not neglecting high school coursework
Maintain frequent communication with students and their support network regarding academic progress
Communicate and collaborate with teachers and school administrators
Participate in staff development opportunities
Participate in all required staff meetings
Ensure the security of computer equipment and accessories
Dress professionally and uphold all school policies
Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Principal
