    METALLURGICAL PRODUCT ENGINEER - 65K TO 85K BASE + QUARTERLY BONUS + FULL BENEFITS + MATCHING 401K + FULL RELOCATION PACKAGE

    Provide technical interface between the customer and Company. The functional responsibilities of the position include administering to daily technical issues, understanding the product end use and material constraints, defining internal requirements necessary to produce the product and addressing customer technical concerns to ensure that all products meet customer expectations. In addition, the product engineer is responsible for providing technical support for Sales (review of RFQs, new orders and specifications), Manufacturing (definition of process steps and manufacturing process/item review) and Quality (definition of ITPs, MQPs).

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Administer to daily technical issues as directed by the Manager for ensuring a consistent and reliable product.
    • Assist Operations team to establish suitable and efficient manufacturing methods to meet all customer requirements.
    • Define/approve process routes (items) necessary to meet the product material and end use requirements.
    • Maintain an ongoing effective and collaborative technical interface via technical meetings and discussions with the customer as assigned.
    • Perform necessary technical evaluations to address customer expectations, needs and concerns.
    • Provide technical direction for new products and inquires.
    • Provide technical support where appropriate to other areas of the organization and as assigned

     

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    The employee will have knowledge of the principles and practices of all aspects of Company processes, the ability to prepare written reports and correspondence as well as presentations to senior leadership, the ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to exercise sound technical judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required preferably in Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science. An advance degree and/or one to three years of experience is an advantage.

    • Strong communication skills in all forms. Ability to communicate effectively to customers, production personnel and the SXP senior leadership team.
