Full-Time PNA or CNA Travel or Local Contract – Austin, TX Psychiatric Hospital

We have an excellent full-time Psychiatric Nursing Assistant contract available at a reputable psychiatric hospital in Austin, TX!

Position: Full-Time Psychiatric Nursing Assistant Contract

Location: Austin, TX

Shift: 2:45pm-11:15pm, EOW or any shift weekends only. There are NO 12 hr shifts

Hours: 40 hours/week

Length: 3 to 6 months, with option to extend

Start: 1st and 16th of each month

Responsibilities:

• Assist with activities of daily living to individuals with mental illness, mental retardation, chemical dependency, social and/or physical disorders who are inpatient in the Mental Health Units
• Monitor, document, and report any health changes to LPN or RN
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

• Experience in direct patient care and 1 year continuous work history with same employer preferred
• Experience in psych or behavioral health preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Must pass a 10-panel drug screening prior to start
• Must pass FBI-level background check. No previous felonies or misdemeanors
• Must be available for 10 consecutive days of training, M-F, 8a-5p
• Must report to facility prior to start date for fingerprints and COVID testing
• Valid TX Driver's license. Applicants with an out-of-state drive license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure and obtain TX license within 90 days
