About the Role:

Join SHAWN D BARTLEY AND ASSOCIATES, LLC as a 2L-3L Summer/Fall Law Clerk in our dynamic and fast-paced small law office in Silver Spring, MD. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while working alongside experienced legal professionals.

Responsibilities:

Assist in legal research and drafting of documents including motions and briefs.

Attend client meetings and assist with case preparation.

Review and summarize case files and legal documents.

Support attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.

Conduct client interviews and gather relevant information.

Maintain case files and ensure compliance with legal procedures.

Collaborate with team members on various legal projects.

Stay updated on legal trends and developments relevant to our practice areas.

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school, preferably 2L or 3L students.

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Prior experience in a legal setting is a plus, but not required.

Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Demonstrated commitment to public service and community engagement.

Positive attitude and eagerness to learn from experienced attorneys.
