The Janitorial Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of janitorial staff in a variety of settings, including office buildings, schools, hospitals, and other commercial facilities. This includes developing cleaning schedules, ordering supplies, training staff, and performing hands-on cleaning duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement cleaning schedules for various facilities
Monitor and manage cleaning staff performance to ensure quality standards are met
Order and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
Train new staff members on cleaning procedures and safety protocols
Perform hands-on cleaning duties to assist staff as needed
Coordinate with other departments (e.g. maintenance, security) to ensure facilities are properly maintained and secured
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and guidelines
Prepare and submit reports on cleaning activities, staff performance, and supply inventory
Qualifications Prior experience in janitorial or facilities management
Strong leadership and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards
Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemical handling procedures
Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed
High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred
