  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • TRAYER-PACKER are responsible for sorting, packaging, and weighing the quality Johnsonville products made by our manufacturing team employees. These employees play an important role ensuring every product that leaves the Johnsonville facility meets our high-quality standards. These employees put sausages into cardboard trays and pack the trays into boxes.

    • JOB TYPE: Full Time, Permanent 

    • WAGE PER HOUR: $21.63- $22.07 An extra $.60 per hour upon completion of backup role training. Hours. 

    • HOURS PER WEEK: 40 + 

    • OVERTIME: Yes/ 1.5x the hourly rate over 40, Sundays are double time. Typically, 2.5 hours per week of overtime in production. More available if interested. Seasonally (Feb-June) we work Saturdays, which results in 10.5 hours OT/week.

    • WORKWEEK: Mon – Friday. Must be willing to work on weekends based on company needs.

    • SHIFTS: 1st shift: Either 4:30am – 1:30pm, OR 5:30am – 2:30pm. Saturday (when production demands) 4:30am – 1:30pm.

    • PAYMENT DAYS: Biweekly/Friday 

    • START DATES: ASAP

    Qualifications

    • CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG TEST: Ability to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical and background check. 
    • ENGLISH LEVEL REQUIRED: Competent (conversational English) 
    • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to pass physical assessment performed by the factory´s doctor. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Work environment is refrigerated, about 45° F. 
    • DOCUMENTATION: The employee will provide upon arrival all the information required to start employment and will sign the proper contract and formats providing proper documentation. 
    • DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED FOR VANPOOL DRIVERS: Some employees may drive a vehicle that is rented by Johnsonville. The driver will also be asked to use the vehicle to assist with transportation for other Johnsonville employees, for their personal use, up to 200 miles per month. It is understood that these duties will revolve around grocery shopping and purchasing essentials from stores in the Sheboygan area.

    • PAID HOLIDAYS: Yes, after 60 days of work they start being eligible for paid holidays. 
    • JOB PROMOTION POSSIBILITY: Yes. Promotion is available after six months, as jobs become available, and candidates are qualified. 
    • BONUS: Yes. STAY BONUS: $1000 BONUS after the employee has completed 4 months of continuous employment at Johnsonville. PROFIT BONUS: After 2 months of work, employee will start receiving a monthly bonus. The amount depends upon the company profit. Employee can lose the bonus if he or she fail to attend work on a consistent basis.

     

    TRANSPORTATION:

    • PAID FLIGHT TO BUSINESS LOCATION: Yes, employer will pay for flight from employees’ original location to the facility in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. Employer will cover travel expenses, including food, on the flight from Puerto Rico to WI up to $50 per person. Employees must keep receipts to be reimbursed. 
    • FROM HOUSING TO WORKSITE: Transportation will be offered to the employee at a cost of $250/month per employee, for a period of 6 months, while living at the provided housing and employed with Johnsonville. This charge is the same whether the employee is a driver or rider. Employees pay for gas by splitting the responsibility among themselves.

     

    HOUSING:

    • RENT: $250 per person for double occupancy, $220 per person in triple occupancy. The cost of rent may be deducted from employee’s paycheck.
