Greenskeeper
Primary Purpose: This position performs semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work on the golf course under the supervision of the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent.
Essential Functions:
- Perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Weed tee surrounds and other turf areas.
- Plant bushes, shrubs, and other native plants.
- Edges, rakes, and maintains sand bunkers.
- Edge irrigation heads, basins, and around tee yardage markers.
- Hand raking leaves and other debris.
- Apply divot sand to tees and fairways on the golf course.
- Maintain teeing ground.
- Weed eating around light poles, bunkers, and satellite boxes.
- Pick up grass piles.
- Prep areas for sod and laying sod.
- Operates large mowers, tractors, and other light equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Mow greens with walking greens mower.
- Mow greens, tees, and fairways with riding mower.
- Responsible for checking fluid levels before operating any machine.
- Responsible for reporting any abnormalities discovered while operating machinery to supervisor and mechanic.
- Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility, wash equipment at the end of each day.
- Clean restrooms and break room as assigned
- Must be able to service the golf course. These duties include changing green flags, putting cups, moving rope and barricades, and moving tee markers.
- Must be able to move directional fences.
- Must be able to drive turf vehicles and mowers.
- Helps in project work; assists in the construction and sodding/sprigging of new greens, tees, and fairways.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of and ability to use hand/power tools and equipment.
• Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Previous experience and knowledge of grounds work. Physical Demands & Work Environment
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
• The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
