Job Description

OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a talented and self-motivated individual for our Assistant Technical Design opportunity in our Women’s and Kid’s Wear division. This full-time, in-person position is located at our NY office in the heart of the Manhattan’s garment district. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work under the supervision of a Technical Design Manager or Senior Technical Designer.
• Spec measure the garment and check workmanship.
• Review Buyer fit/PPS and TOP sample and follow-up.
• Send out fit comments to factory and follow-up accordingly.
• Attend fit sessions: review previous samples before fitting, take photos, write fit comments.
• File and organize In-House samples as needed, keep approved samples in order.
• Update chart following the fit and production status.
• Daily communication with factory: in-house fit/PPS status and sample review comments.
• Perform administrative duties related to the Technical Design team and interact with Designers as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 2 years of experience in the Apparel Industry is preferred.
• Dedicated team player who is eager to learn and improve skill.
• Working knowledge of the following computer applications: Microsoft Word/Excel, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator.
• Knowledge of patterns, grading, garment construction and material.
• Good oral and written communication skills, understanding of USA Imperial system is a must.
• Highly organized with ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• Knowledge of pressing and preparing garments for fittings.
• Ability to operate different office equipment (photocopier, printer via alternate setting, digital camera).

This is a full-time, in-person position. Compensation will be based on qualification and experience.
