To stay in business, each operator must provide an average of at least $643 per month. At 25%, that means each would have to earn $2566 per month in fees. To be profitable and provide an income for owners, each operator should do at least twice that. If we bring in the clients, salons have told us that 25% is considered by the industry to be ridiculously low….yet that’s what we charge. No booth rent.
Salons that operate on a sharing revenue model have told us that we should not charge less than 40% of fees in order to remain healthy. Salons that rent out chairs claim that we should charge $350 to $450 per chair.

Owning part of a salon has benefits.
