    Job Description

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervises daily work activities of subordinate staff and capitalize on developmental opportunities

    • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

    • Ensure proper segregation of duties and internal controls

    • Directs preparation of consolidated monthly financial reporting package for Management

    • Directs preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for affiliated entities

    • Analysis and presentation of financial results to various parties including internal finance committees and/or external Board of Directors meetings

    • Collaborate with various departments, finance/accounting teams across affiliated entities, including participation in monthly financial review meetings and ad hoc meetings as needed

    • Direct preparation of audit schedules, including interfacing directly with auditors as department liaison

    • Broker Fees and physician compensation – Manages broker fee and physician compensation approval, underlying calculations, and payment processing through the separation of medical billing for each broker or physician’s region or clinic location on a periodic basis.

    • Fixed Assets – Manages the fixed asset sub-ledger as part of the close and post-close duties on a monthly basis

    • Physical Inventory – Coordinates the physical inventory count of all tangible assets on a periodic basis

    • Works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure values are captured appropriately and attributed to the correct project, region, or clinic

    • Equity – Works with board and external CPA/attorney vendor to maintain accurate stock records and to record stock activity appropriately

    • Government Program Compliance – Coordinates with Compliance and Insurance teams to meet the financial reporting needs of the business for business licenses, RFPs, insurance policies, etc.

    • Direct preparation of tax return related requests, including interfacing directly with tax preparers as department liaison

    • Review workflows and identify areas requiring improvement, provide recommendations, and leads the necessary implementation

    • Develop workflows to address new lines of business, medical practice acquisitions, or accounting guidance

    • Oversee the registration and maintenance process for various bank accounts (check scanning devices, merchant account setup, fees)

    MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES:

    • Recruits, trains, mentors and manages Accountants; retains the necessary resources to successfully perform the duties for the Accounting team and provides performance management

    • Provides day-to-day management of the department, including developing and administering policies, business processes, and quality standards

    RELATED DUTIES:

    • Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems

    • Researches and implements new accounting standards issued by the FASB or other governing authority if applicable

    • Initiates attendance at job-related seminars and keeps up-to-date with the industry’s best practices

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    MUST HAVE:

    • CPA in California
    • 6 years working in a healthcare industry.
    • 6 years experience in Medical Billing as an account manager.
