Position Summary
The Machine Operator – Wiring is responsible for operating production equipment used to cut, strip, crimp, label, and assemble electrical wires and harnesses. This role ensures all wiring components meet quality, safety, and production standards while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting continuous workflow on the manufacturing floor.
Key Responsibilities
Operate wire‑processing machines such as cutters, strippers, crimpers, and automated harness equipment.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and work orders to determine specifications.
Measure, cut, strip, and prepare wires according to required lengths and tolerances.
Perform crimping, soldering, labeling, bundling, and routing of wires and cables.
Inspect finished wiring components for accuracy, defects, and compliance with quality standards.
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform basic adjustments to maintain performance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S and safety protocols.
Complete production logs, quality checklists, and material usage reports.
Collaborate with supervisors and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Follow all company policies, safety rules, and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience operating manufacturing or wire‑processing equipment.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and measurements.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as needed (typically 25–50 lbs).
Good communication and teamwork skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in electrical assembly, cable harness production, or electronics manufacturing.
Familiarity with ISO, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, or similar quality standards.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and manual handling of wires and tools.
Ability to operate hand tools and small machinery safely.
Visual acuity for inspecting small components.
