    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible for supporting the Technical Design team for all apparel product categories, from initial design creation through final production hand-off, in accordance with our corporate standards for quality, fit consistency & functionality.  Must be a team player with excellent cross-functional communication skills, the ability to be flexible and manage their workload in a heavy deadline environment.  Highly organized, detailed and action orientated, with superb illustrator skills.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Create tech packs inclusive of design sketches, detailed technical sketches for all components and construction details for both outside and internal areas, measurements, grade rules, and BOM review

    • Prepare garments for fittings by measuring and inspecting construction to determine compliance of specs and construction

    • Participate in live model fit sessions to evaluate garments, take photos, record comments for corrections

    • Review of digital patterns to ensure corrections and grade rules have been followed, pattern corrections as needed

    • Provide approval/rejection of samples for fit, balance, measurement, grades, construction accuracy and quality

    • Clearly and effectively communicate expectations, needs and timelines to cross-functional partners, factories and agents

    • Track and manage workflow while adhering to development and commercialization trackers, calendars, and processes to ensure on-time development and production

    • Maintain accurate record keeping

    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science or related degree / certificate from an accredited program

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Technical Designer with hands on pattern experience

    • Working experience in executing all levels of development process with a solid understanding of the apparel development process in a manufacturing environment

    • Experience in developing and managing multiple product categories simultaneously

    • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical information via Technical Specification packages, emails, phone calls and face to face

    • Expert technical sketching ability using Illustrator with strong attention to detail

    • Ability to accurately correct and execute 2-D pattern correction

    • Strong knowledge of checking and applying grade rules to measurement grade sheet and patterns.

    • Extensive proficiency with computer skills including, but not limited to

      • Microsoft Office Suites - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
      • Adobe Suites - Illustrator and Photoshop
      • 2D Pattern software (Optitex a plus)
      • PDM/ PLM software
    • Factory or Sample room working experience preferred

    • Must be fluent in English, additional languages a plus
