  • Responsibilities

    75F is an IoT- Powered Building Management Solution (BMS) and is looking to hire our next BMS Application Engineer. The ideal candidate would have either commercial mechanical HVAC installation experience OR Building Automation Systems design for commercial HVAC systems. After our Application Engineers are comfortable working their specialty area, they are then cross-trained and promoted to a Project Engineer, eventually running their own jobs from the initial design review with a sales rep all the way through supporting the final commissioning.  

    The ideal candidate has in-depth commercial mechanical HVAC systems experience and has a desire to be at the forefront of modern building automation solutions. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides application and product selection support 
    • Creates control submittals and wiring schematics 
    • Creates quotes and estimates for products and solutions using point of sale software 
    • Assists with technical sales and end-user presentations
    • Provides product and application technical support and training 
    • Serves as a primary resource for product questions and product application information for internal and external customers 
    • Programs equipment controllers and provides start-up assistance for new customers 
    • New product testing and vetting 
    • Investigates problems, develops solutions, and makes recommendations 
    • Creates custom program modules in Niagara AX and N4 
    • Attends, develops, constructs, and records training sessions and maintains technical proficiency on all issues that are applicable to our customers and industry 
    • Administers the product warranty/returns process 
    • Between 25-50% travel may be required for site visits. This can be flexible and negotiated.

      

    REQUIRED BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

    • 5+ years experience in Commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Journeyman+ commercial Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems installation and maintenance
    • Advanced HVAC mechanical background and systems knowledge 
    • Experience working with past and present Controls systems
    • Ability to read and interpret Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing blueprints, specifications
    • Valid driver's license and clean driving record for limited travel as needed 
    • Self-motivated, can work independently or as a team member.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Ability to problem solve and have basic “black box” logical thinking.

     

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Niagara AX and/or N4 certification, Honeywell WEBS certification, or Johnson Controls FX certifications
    • Experience working with BACnet and/or Modbus
    • Strong knowledge of BAS and DDC Controls systems. 
    • MS Visio experience is extremely helpful, Auto CAD experience is helpful.  
    • PLT License Preferred 
    • Knowledge/experience tuning PID loops 
    • Strong knowledge of and ability to read, understand and update controls system submittal drawings
    • Proficient with Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and modern technologies
    • Associates degree in HVAC, Electronics, Electrical Maintenance, Industrial Systems is preferred

    *This role will be supporting install jobs on-site in the Houston, Texas area and beyond, but is a work-from-home role as our company headquarters is in Minnesota.
