    Job Description Qualifications:

    The 787 Interiors Certification Team within Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Entry-Level and Associate Engineers to join our team in Everett, WA. The Payloads Organization is responsible for everything you see when you fly; and much of which you don’t. The Interiors of the airplane, along with the cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety all make up Payloads. We are how our airline customers fulfill their mission and represent their brand and shape how the public experiences flight.

    Our organization is a fast paced, dynamic environment, which pulls from many engineering backgrounds. In this role, you will be responsible for statement of work that spans the product lifecycle from engaging with customer requests through supporting post-delivery changes. Your work will include the need to interface with other members of project engineering, production engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions through the cabin safety certification processes. You will be able to combine the expertise and resources of the interiors organization to certify and deliver the best interiors products within the industry.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Assists to develop, integrate and document interior payload system certification requirements to establish the system design

    • Assists to review analyses and test/inspection results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

    • Work with design engineers on showing compliance to the FAA regulations, developing/using issue papers, equivalent level of safety etc.

    • Assists FAA designees for interior crashworthiness

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • 2+ years of experience in engineering, design criteria and engineering release processes or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Knowledge of requirement verification, management, validation processes

    • Engineering support and project leadership within a certification system

    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

    • Adaptable in a dynamic work environment

    • Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking

    Typical Education/Experience:

    Entry-Level (Level 1)

    Education acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, (e.g. Bachelor). ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Associate (Level 2)

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Masters’ related work experience). ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

    Summary pay range Entry-Level: $68,850 - $93,150

    Summary pay range for Associate: 80,750 - 109,250
