    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    o      The Continuous Improvement Leader role exists to lead the deployment and embed the company Business System (BS) into a Site which includes problem solving methodology and Lean principles.  In addition to lead continuous improvement efforts to improve Business Performance (Quality, Safety, Service, Cost, and Innovation).   

    o      As a key member of the Site Management Team, the role is accountable for ensuring the day-to-day BS way of working and a culture of problem solving is developed across the site. 

    o      Support the rest of the areas on the site to help leaders to adapt the BS standards in their day-by-day activities, assuring the maturity level is increasing year by year.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    o      The Business System (BS) will be an integral part of the way we run our business for the long-term. This role will focus on leading improvement efforts tied to the company’s local facilities most critical business processes; primarily in Safety, Service, Cost and Innovation.  

    o      Through analyzing processes, diagnosing operational challenges, and implementing process changes, this role will drive continuous improvement and breakthrough performance ultimately shaping the facilities continuous improvement culture.

    o      This role will look to positively impact results and culture by establishing standards, institutionalizing daily management processes, and adopting consistent problem-solving methods. 

    o      Working with key leaders within the organization, this leader will build an action plan to identify opportunities and implement tools and processes such as the strategy deployment process, tiered daily management process, and A3 management and problem-solving processes which will ultimately define the lean culture and activities. 

    o      This will require significant change management to effectively embed throughout the growing organization.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    o      Deploy continuous improvement methodologies through partnership and work with managers to identify and agree the priorities for the site.

    o      Implement the company Business System culture. i.e., daily management metrics, review and problem-solving cadence to address KPI and core value drivers, implementing lean tools and training programs to deliver on the facility’s continuous improvement strategic plan.

     

    o      Establish a lean deployment program which; ensures the application of globally recognized standards for lean principles and practices, serves as a benchmark for companies’ achievements, provides a common roadmap for continuous improvement and workforce development

    o      Develop capability across the spectrum from the tactical (deployment and application of principles, concepts and methods) to the strategic (a transformation that deeply impacts a key value stream

    o      Coach Leaders and area managers to develop and sustain continuous improvement mindsets and behaviors

    o      Track progress of the continuous improvement efforts

    o      Work with Technical area, procurement, Production, Quality, Validation and Engineering Capital Projects Manager to align all site projects / resources / costs.

    REQUIRED AND TARGETED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    ●      Excellent stakeholder engagement, analytical thinker, and communication skills 

    ●      Be able to facilitate and have the ability to direct workshop sessions skills including problem solving (PCDA, A3, Kaizen, 5Y etc…)

    ●      Execution – Delivers and measures results

    ●      Influence – Drive commitment over compliance, must be able to inform, convince, and persuade others to support and drive implementation of key initiatives

    ●      Technical Expertise - Possess the technical skills necessary to be credible; must have significant practitioner experience in Growth & Lean tools and processes

    ●      Communication - must be able to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms, and courageously speak at all levels of the organization

    ●      Experience translating Business Strategic Goals into practice to ensure that Training, Service Excellence and Quality objectives are aligned 

    ●      Have relevant experience of managing people, HR practices and Environmental, Health and Safety 

    ●      Experience in coaching and mentoring staff to maximize their performance and engagement 

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    ●      Demonstrated successful leadership and proficiency in building and implementing lean business system/practices for global manufacturing organization (in a variety of situations) within a manufacturing facility / distribution center organization.

    ●      Strategic mindset with hands-on approach

    ●      Green belt or Black belt certification

    ●      Lean / Continuous Improvement experience

    ●      Strong focus on customer and end user experience

    ●      Gains traction quickly, demonstrates ambition, and high energy 

    ●      Manages conflict

    ●      Independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    ●      BS or BA Degree; Master’s Degree preferred.  

    ●      Demonstrated capability with five years in a lean/operational leadership role

    ●      Extensive training and implementation experience in industry leading lean tools and practices

    ●      Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a general site manager’s perspective

    ●      Familiarity with various manufacturing process technologies

    ●      Excellent time and project management
